Itinerary:

Day 1

Leave Johannesburg or Pretoria in an air-conditioned microbus with an experienced Kruger Park guide. Travel east across the Highveld farmlands into Mpumalanga & along Elands Valley to Nelspruit - centre of our finest citrus farms. Continue to the entrance of Kruger Park in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon on your first exciting game drive looking for elephant, giraffe and antelope. Before sunset arrive at your Rest Camp and book into an air-conditioned chalet with shower / toilet and screens to prevent insects. Enjoy dinner in the privatised restaurant.

Day 2

Awaken at dawn and listen to the birds before leaving camp for an early morning game drive to look for lions & other Big Five species ( lion, leopard, elephant, rhino & buffalo ). Stop for a hearty breakfast then continue to a waterhole to see hippos, crocodiles & birds. Return to camp for an afternoon siesta or swim. Later board the National Parks open safari vehicle with spotlights for a night drive ( duration 3 hours ) to search for predators & other nocturnal species. Overnight & dinner at your Rest Camp listening to the sounds of hyena & often lion.

Day 3

Depart from camp for another memorable early morning game drive to look for elusive species such as leopard often found lying in trees . Breakfast then exit Kruger Park via a southern gate & proceed towards the old gold mining town of Barberton, through the mountains at Nelshoogte and then past forests & timber mills to Piet Retief. After a lunch break, continue south with Swaziland on your left & enter KwaZulu-Natal famous for its tribal culture, sugarcane plantations and game reserves such as Hluhluwe which is the oldest in South Africa. Look forward to a warm welcome from the Zulus when you book into the traditional Hluhluwe Hotel for dinner and overnight.
