4 DAY WILDLIFE SAFARI TO KRUGER NATIONAL PARK & ELEPHANT SANCTUARY

• Visit to the Hazyview Elephant Sanctuary for guided tour & elephant back ride .

Departure :  we collect passengers in Johannesburg from guesthouses , hotels & the airport usually between 07.00 - 08.00 in the morning . Drop-off on the last day can be at the same place between 16.00 - 17.00 .

Itinerary:

Day 1

Leave Johannesburg or Pretoria in an air-conditioned microbus with an experienced Kruger Park guide. Travel east across the Highveld farmlands & down the escarpment towards Nelspruit, the capital of Mpumalanga. Stop for lunch then enter Kruger Park for your first exciting game drive looking for elephant, giraffe and antelope. Before sunset arrive at your Rest Camp and book into an air-conditioned chalet with shower / toilet and screens to prevent insects. Enjoy dinner in the restaurant or a barbeque .

Day 2

Awaken at dawn and leave camp for an early morning game drive hoping to spot some lions or other Big Five species ( lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo & rhino ). Stop for breakfast then continue game viewing & maybe see a herd of elephants cross the road or some giraffe eating from the tall trees. Return to camp for afternoon siesta then later board the open safari vehicle for a sunset drive ( or request an optional bush walk ). Dinner in the Selati Diner or restaurant & overnight Rest Camp.

Day 3

Up early for another day of game viewing in Kruger Park. Your guide will devote more time to watching the birds & smaller creatures today especially in summer time when we have many migratory birds coming from the northern hemisphere . Breakfast at a picnic spot or rest camp then go to a waterpoint looking for hippos & crocodiles. During the midday heat , do some curio shopping at one of the camps then drive out of the Park & proceed to Hotel Numbi near Hazyview . Enjoy a relaxing dinner discussing the highlights of your safari & overnight .

Day 4

Breakfast at the hotel then drive to the Elephant Sanctuary & join their Trunk-in-Hand and Elephant Back Ride morning program . Prepare for your homeward journey travelling past the Lowveld citrus orchards & pine forests into scenic Schoeman's Kloof . Stop for refreshments on the highway & continue to Johannesburg. Drop-off at the airport before 16.30 or continue to the suburbs

General Information

• Duration of most game drives is 3 hours
  
• It is advisable to take precautions against malaria particularly during the rainy season from early October to late May . These include insect repellent, protective clothing & malaria medication such as Malarone which is the best for Kruger.
  
• We suggest you bring sunglasses, a small hat, swimsuit, a camera, torch / flashlight, light casual clothes but a warm jacket & jersey for the open vehicle.
  
• A policy of “no smoking” and rotation of seats in the microbus is required.
  
• Gratuities to driver / guide, waiters and porters is not included.
