Children on Safari
All our tours are suitable for families although we must consider other passengers on the tour bus & we recommend that parents who have children under 6 years should choose a private tour with exclusive use of the vehicle.
Game Viewing
Children are permitted on all game drives conducted using a closed microbus . However, for safety reasons children under 8 years are not allowed on an open safari vehicle in Kruger Park. Private lodges such as Mohlabetsi are more lenient and Moholoholo is most suitable for families. Please discuss options with our sales staff so that younger members of the family together with mothers are not excluded from the fun & excitement of a safari.
Accommodation
We will request family units where possible & these may include 3 or 4 bedded rooms.
Meals
Children will join their parents for meals in the restaurant or boma.
Health
We do recommend parents take precautions against malaria when visiting Kruger Park especially from early October to end of April. This includes medication, insect repellent, long sleeves, long pants,
socks & closed shoes (when outside from sunset to sunrise). Bedrooms are fitted with wire screens for protection against insects. Sunscreen, swimsuit & a cap are useful.
Security
We consider children accompanied by their parents are quite safe on our tours.
Please remember to bring a torch for night time & do not allow children to walk alone.
Prices
Children 12 years & under are entitled to reduced rates when sharing a room with adults.
