Private Lodges - Idube Private Game Reserve

Set in indigenous gardens shaded by knobthorns and majestic jackalberries, this small exclusive lodge has ten ensuite chalets each one with a character of its own. High ceilings, airconditioning and overhead fans ensure that the chalets are cool and comfortable at all times. The rooms have ensuite bathrooms and inside and l outside showers

When not on safari, guests can relax on one of the thatched decks and watch the animals coming to drink at the large dam directly opposite camp. Or they can laze around the boulder pool and enjoy the warthog and nyala that visit the camp daily.

Full English style breakfasts and interesting lunches are usually served on the dining deck. Dinners may be served either in the boma or the bushcamp or simply in the middle of the bush. Lit only by lanterns, firelight and the overhead stars, an ambiance that is uniquely African weaves a magic guests will never forget.

Game viewing is exceptional and includes the Big Five. There is an abundance of other game to be seen at excitingly close range.

For those who enjoy seeing game on foot, a daily bush walk leaves the lodge at 10h30 and the walk is tailored made to suit guests. For the more energetic, there is a fully equipped gym.

Idube Private Game Reserve recently announced the launch of the new Makubela Suites. These are two completely new suites each with theirown private splash pools. Every effort has been made to conserve the environment, rain water is directed off the roofs to a holding tank and will be used to water the bush. To reduce our carbon footprint and as has been done with the rest of Idube, gas geysers have been installed in order to save electricity. The bush surrounding the suites is completely natural

The suites are named after a female leopard who included the lodge as part of her territory. She died in 2010 in the grounds after a massive fight with a male. A firm favourite with staff and guests alike, Makubela will always be remembered.

A stay at Idube combines the peace and tranquility of the unspoiled bush with the comfort of a luxury lodge.
